Jay is a professional sailor, born in California, he has lived onboard sailboats since a young adult, sailing throughout the world with his family. He has competed against some of the very best sailors in races around the world from lasers in the acclaimed Fleet413 to the Marstrom32 circuit and TP52s in Newport, Rhode Island, 7th in the F16 World Championship, to Mini6.50’s, Imoca60’s, Trimaran Ocean50's, and Class40's in Europe. Jay has also excelled as a well sought out “préparateur” in Lorient, France, preparing IMOCA60’s for large offshore races. He has worked in many different countries therefore speaks English, Spanish and French. Jay’s passion is short handed offshore racing. His vast experience as a boat builder plus the thousands of miles sailing, give him the ability to adapt to any situation, the experience to manage any high-performance race team and compete at the highest levels.
