Hervé GRUNIG
In 2008, I decided to start again sailing after a too long break. In love with the classics and to avoid a divorce for the time dedicating to their maintenance, my wife made me a nice and charming gift: a Swan 42'of 1985 designed by R.Holland. A true classic w/o the corresponding duties. During the 2018 Swan Cup I had a fantastic experience surounded by three Swan 56'. I immediately knew that the 56' will be my next boat. A fantastic design served by something special called power and elegance. Done in 2021 and after a complete refit we started to build up a team to serve our new AZAHAR. Done again in 2023/2024. A truly enriching human experience. At the same time, the idea came to me taking crew and boat on a very special adventure: participatimg in as many 600-mile regattas as possible, or sometimes slightly shorter ones. We thus participated in the Giráglia 2025, the Aegean 2024, the Middle Sea Race 2024, PALMA VELA LA LARGA 2025, Palermo/Montecarlo 2025, and this year it will be the RORC 600 and Newport/Bermuda before the adventure continues in 2027 and 2028. AZAHAR is very special beyond her proper specificities; she will race under the ensign of the YACHT CLUB DE FRANCE but also the CLUB DE VELA PUERTO ANDRATX (Mallorca) where she usually stands, a crew all Spanish except a Briton and a Frenchy. Really nice!
